Poe has inspired a new beer from the Baltimore-Washington Beer Works. The brew, a dark
amber beer called The Raven, is also being brewed and sold in Germany and other European
countries. In a stunning blow to the great poetic form known as irony, while popular lore
holds that the tortured writer drank himself to death, those in the know say he was
actually poisoned by a rival.
